The Tarahina tree is one of 47 endemic plant species to Rekohu | Chatham Islands. Scientists originally thought the Tarahina tree to be extinct, until it was found growing here in abundance. The Tarahina tree is harvested by some of the world's only disease-free bees, making our Honey one of the rarest honeys in the world. Its flavor and quality has earned numerous awards.

To Bee Or Not To Bee - Our plan is to build up healthy bee stock. We have the ability to breed pure, healthy queens and strong honeybee colonials, then introduce these beneficial bees to other suitable parts of our Island. Including the provision of livelihood opportunities and increase apicultural productivity within our local community.
