The Tarahina tree is one of 47 endemic plant species to Rekohu | Chatham Islands. Scientists originally thought the Tarahina tree to be extinct, until it was found growing here in abundance. The Tarahina tree is harvested by some of the world's only disease-free bees, making our Honey one of the rarest honeys in the world. Its flavor and quality has earned numerous awards
To Bee Or Not To Bee - Our plan is to build up healthy bee stock. We have the ability to breed pure, healthy queens and strong honeybee colonials, then introduce these beneficial bees to other suitable parts of our Island. Including the provision of livelihood opportunities and increase apicultural productivity within our local community.

You will be guided by Apiary Founder Kaai Silbery an awarded winning chef in her own right. She is also the innovator behind Tarahina Honey's Freeze Dried delights that you will be able to experience on tour.Tailored for groups up to 20 people, our Apiary walking tour showcases the home of Go Wild Apiary, the unique flora and endemic plants of the island that help our bees flourish. Discover all the farm has to offer and learn everything there is to know about our islands bee's and making honey. You will also get to taste our freeze dried range and maybe even take some home with you. We look forward to seeing you there.

Celebrating the fabulous kaimoana (seafood) from the Chatham Islands - five course tasting dinner. Dessert sourced from Go Wild’s fantastic Chatham Island freeze-dried honey with chilli red wine pears, saffron cardamom sheep’s yoghurt granita and roast Canterbury hazelnuts.
